Introduction

FreeCAD is a free open-source 3D CAD software available on all platforms.

This guide was written for the recent 1.0 release, features and workflow may change as the program is still under active development.

Installation

Windows and Mac OS

Go to the FreeCAD website’s download page and choose the appropriate .zip file.

Linux

We recommend you use Flathub to download the program.

Getting Started

You will be greeted by a setup screen asking you to set your preferred language, units, control scheme — this guide will use the sown settings, and the theme.
