📘 Module Overview

In this module, you will install the Intel FPGA toolchain, create your first SystemVerilog project in Quartus Prime Lite, simulate it using ModelSim, and understand the core workflow behind digital hardware design.

🎯 Learning Outcomes

By the end, you will be able to:

• Install Quartus Prime Lite and ModelSim-Intel Edition
• Create a new FPGA project targeting Cyclone V
• Write structural SystemVerilog (fulladder.sv)
• Create a self-checking testbench (testbench.sv)
• Simulate and debug digital designs using ModelSim
• View hardware-level RTL schematics
• Understand the FPGA workflow: design → compile → simulate → synthesize

🛠 Required Software

Install these before the workshop.

• Quartus Prime Lite Edition 20.1.1

  ‣ Recommended because it is compatible with ModelSim

• ModelSim – Intel FPGA Starter Edition

  ‣ Comes installed alongside Quartus if selected

💡 Expect a 20–25GB install. Windows required for full compatibility.
